X-Rays

A radiograph (x-ray) is a type of photograph that shows data that is not visible on the surface of the body. Your pet's internal organs, such as the heart, lungs, abdominal organs, and bones, may be examined using radiography. Radiology can be a useful tool in our diagnostic arsenal for accurately diagnosing your pet. Many advances in digital x-ray technology have occurred over time; now, we can modify digital photographs that have been taken. This opens up new avenues for detecting issues that would otherwise go undetected on a standard x-ray scan.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound creates images of organs and tissues by using high-frequency sound waves. It is an imaging technique that, like radiology (X-rays), can be used alone or in conjunction with other tests. Ultrasound allows us to see specific internal organs such as the heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder, spleen, and intestines. It can also be used to locate and monitor a pregnancy. Because we want you to get the most out of this fantastic diagnostic tool, we work closely with experts - people who have dedicated their lives to imaging.

Echocardiogram

An echocardiogram (or echo) is a type of ultrasound of the heart. This treatment is one of the least invasive and most effective ways to examine the architecture of the heart and see how it works in real-time. If your pet has a heart murmur, we will almost certainly schedule an echo.
The heart is divided into four chambers, each separated by a valve. These valves seal at the proper time to keep blood flowing in the right direction. With echocardiography, we can see if the heart walls are thickened, if the chambers of the heart are enlarged, and if the heart valves are functioning properly. We can also determine whether the blood pressure in the veins leading to and from the heart is normal.
