Janeen Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith is a veterinarian with 21 years in practice. She ran her own clinic in Verona, Wisconsin for the past 16 years before becoming a co-owner of our clinic.  She has been an innovator, from initiating a house call practice to embracing the latest veterinary techniques. Dr. Smith contributes her business experience to our clinic.

Melanie Weber

Mel brings her work ethic, dedication and 25 years experience training, breeding, showing, and rescuing dogs to our clinic. Now, add to that her 12 years as a kennel manager, 3 years as President of the Badger Kennel Club, a “glad to meet you” personality and a love of animals that doesn’t stop. Mel’s family includes husband, Jeff, 9 children (4 adopted following the tragic death of their parents in an accident), and a veritable menagerie of 4-legged friends.  Mel will still be visible at the clinic, although she will be spending most of her time next door at Waggin' Tails.

Liz Okas

Liz was introduced to veterinary practices early in life, as her grandfather was a clinic manager in Rockford, Illinois in the 1960's.  Born and raised in Beloit, she attended UW-Whitewater before coming to Madison in 1982.  She contributes not only her bright smile and lover of animals, but also her 25 years experience as Practice Manager to our clinic.  Liz will still be visible at the clinic, although she will be spending a lot of her time next door at Waggin' Tails.

Roger Okas

Roger comes to Fitchburg Veterinary Hospital with 30 years of management, finance and distribution experience. He believes in team-building approach to management process and building positive relationships to maximize service and profits. Roger enjoys spending time with family and friends and vacationing in Florida and Northern WI.

Barnum

Barnum is our clinic cat.  He is also our blood donor cat.  He thinks he is the real owner here.
